ABOUT NATHALIE BERTIN...
Born in Toronto, Canada, of French and Algonquin heritage, Nathalie Bertin's work has been described as luminescent and energetic. Nathalie has a keen sense of observation and a fondness for strong colours and textures. She draws much of her inspiration from the beauty of the natural world and focuses on their essence, in alignment with her cultural roots.
Nathalie has been influenced and inspired by such greats as Matisse, Monet and the Group of Seven, and by contemporary Aboriginal and Métis artists such as Leland Bell, Maxine Noel, Linus Woods, Terry McCue and Christi Belcourt.
She currently works from her home studio in Newmarket, ON and home-away-from-home in Muskoka, ON.

June 2010: Selected for a residency as one of the Artist Ambassadors at the G20/G8 Experience Canada event at the G20 Media Centre in Toronto, ON.
May 2010: The original "La Ceinture Souriante" artwork is now part of the Government of Manitoba provincial art collection. A limited number of hand-signed and numbered prints are still available for purchase.

April 2010: "What Art Leclerc Was Doing in Goose Bay" has been selected by the Mayor's jury committee for showcase in 2nd Annual Newmarket Celebrates the Arts Gala, celebrated on May 7, 2010.
March 2010: "Vis-a-Vis" published in the inaugural issue of Oblique Quarterly magazine (Vol. 1, Issue 1: Spring 2010, publisher: weepingfool.com). Available in print and online.
